Blended learning is a modern hybrid approach to language learning. By integrating the advantages of online and face-to face tuition, a high learning outcome is guaranteed.

 

This course offers busy professionals in the field of banking, finance and accounting a flexible learning programme. It has been developed in cooperation with Cambridge ESOL, a leading institution for English language examinations. Course participants may take the Cambridge International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE), recognised globally by employers and academic institutions.

Language level

Participants should already bring with them upper-intermediate or advanced language skills (Common European Framework Level B2 minimum).

For current Cambridge Institut students: C-level or Business Vantage*.

Main features of the Blended Learning course

Blended learning combines the flexibility and freedom of online learning with the unique stimulus of face-to-face tuition. 

The online course-component includes:  

 

  • 20 structured topic-based modules
  • self-study practice material
  • facility to practise all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) according to your individual needs
  • 24/7 access: study anywhere, anytime at your own pace
  • discussion forums
  • notice board
  • unlimited repetition of individual course modules
  • facility to track and measure progress
  • suggestions on how to improve your language skills 

The face-to-face course-component includes:

 

  • regular contact with professional trainers
  • monitoring of your course progress
  • receive feedback on your language skills
  • role-plays and discussions to simulate business situations
  • opportunity to discuss any individual language problems

Course Structure

Participants are encouraged to complete one module per week for the duration of the course. The online time required for each module is approximately 5 - 6 hours.

 

The opportunity to practise and further improve the skills acquired online is given by face-to-face tuition. This generally takes place every other Saturday. Refer to course details for further information.
