The goal of "IELTS Academic Essentials" is to familiarise participants comprehensively with the test structure and equip them with success strategies in the four language skills - listening, reading, writing, and speaking - that are crucial for a successful IELTS test.

Who is this online session for?

  • The online session "IELTS Academic Essentials" is intended for individuals who will be taking an IELTS test shortly and would like to receive the essential exam content and useful tips and tricks in a compact format in one evening.


How long does the session last, and what is the goal?

  • 1 evening session
  • 3 teaching hours from 6:25 PM to 9:10 PM, including breaks (15 minutes)
  • 1 teaching hour = 50 minutes


What is included in the session?

  • Understanding IELTS test structure - an overview of the four language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking), the format, and the time frame.
  • Tips for success - strategies and tips for a successful IELTS test, especially regarding time management.
  • Listening comprehension - techniques such as note-taking and predicting answers.
  • Reading - strategies for efficient skimming, scanning, and understanding complex texts.
  • Writing essentials - explanation of the written part, which includes both Task 1 (report) and Task 2 (essay). Insights into the evaluation criteria and what examiners look for.
  • Speaking test - an overview of the format of the IELTS speaking test. Explanation of evaluation criteria such as fluency, coherence, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Tips on cue card topics.


What minimum level do I need for the "IELTS Academic Essentials" session?

  • Ideally, you should already have an IELTS level of at least 5.5 (CEFR B2).
